Change-over to music (piano and theory), doing private studies as the conservatory was him due to his nationality not allowed.
Shortly studies in Berlin, one year trip through Italy

Place of residence in Paris, first success with compositions of his own
Successful performances of his compositions, even in Leipzig and Cologne

Becomes a citizen of France
1870
The war between French and Prussians makes him stop all musical activities in Germany
