Hears for the first time two (wooden) flutes in a school orchestra and is spontaneously fascinated
During schooldays flute lessons from Richard Röhler (grand son student of Böhm)

Municipal orchestra Freiburg , makes in Donaueschingen the acquaintance of Hindemith
1925
Chamber orchestra of the theatre Düsseldorf
1927
Solo flutist of the broadcasting orchestra Königsberg and acquaintance with Schulhoff, who recommends a silver flute to him
1929
Solo flutist of the national opera Hamburg, refused 1933 after the political change three weeks the oath on Hitler and the new salute, at the end his colleagues forged the lists sent to Berlin
1930
Co-founder of the Baroque Ensemble Kammermusikkreis Scheck-Wenzinger, the first ensemble to play on original instruments.

Hindemith dedicates his flute sonata to him, the premiere with Walter Gieseking is forbidden by Göbbels. The world premiere was given by Barrere in New York instead

Publication of "Der Weg zu den Holzblasinstrumenten" as part of "Hohe Schule der Musik"

After loosing his professorship (and all resulting rights to a pension) , he escapes to relatives of his wife on the Swiss bank of the Bodensee

Honorary doctor of the Freiburg conservatory for his editions of old Music

End of his being president of the conservatory in Freiburg
