Flutist of the New York Symphony Orchestra and the Philadelphia Orchestra

Professorship at the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia at which´s founding he was involved. Among his students were for example Baker Bennett, Mariano and Pellerite
Is said to be the inventor of the whistle-tone technic
