Originally for bass viol. This edition for flute is from Hans-Peter Schmitz. It is one of the most often played pieces for flute solo, the flutist selects a personal program of variations for the concert, all of them is much to long.

Das sind die absoluten Standard-Solostücke, all die Werke, die jeder irgendwann mal spielen wird: beide Bachs, Sequenza, Fukushima, Marais. Gespielt von einem der ganz großen. War eine meiner allerersten Flöten-CDs überhaupt. Fast ein Stückchen Flötengeschichte und in jedem Fall ein würdiges Objekt für das CD-Regal jedes Flötisten.
