Publication of the first volume of his four volume work Cours de Composition (letzter Band 1950).

His nickname was "cyclop", because he lost one eye in an accident.
Remaind an objector of recording technics until his dead: the gramophone has no soul
Among his students were among others: Erik Satie, Albert Roussel, Alberic Magnard, Isaac Albeniz, Arthur Honegger and Darius Milhaud.
His operas are not played in France up to today, as he showed antiliberal and antisemitic mindset in an opera of 1920.

Eine meiner absoluten Lieblings-CDs. Das geht richtig ab. Mit Power gespielt, leidenschaftlich und total schöne Musik. Herr Jans entspricht sehr meinem flötistischen Klangideal. Die Besetzung mit Streichern und Harfe ist sehr schön.
