Private lessons from Julien Koszul in Roubaix and Eugène Gigout in Paris

Lessons with d´Indy at the Schola Cantorum in Paris, acquaintance with Barrere, which became a life long friend.
1902
Before he finishs his own studies, he becomes himself a teacher at the school. Among his students where beside others Varese and Satie. Bohuslav Martinu was musically influenced by him, too.

Premiere of Divertissement for woodwind quintet and piano, commissioned by the Société moderne des instruments à vent in Paris
