As piano accompanist he works with the woodwind quintet of the Dresden Staatskapelle and is due to this interestet ind wind music

Bandmaster of Mitteldeutscher Rundfunk in Leipzig (bis 1942)
1952
Move to Berlin
21.09.1964
Dies in Berlin and becomes entombed in Dresden near the grave of Carl Maria von Weber
The compositions by Blumer includes anything from operas to light musik. He regarded the flute with a lot of works.

I like this piece of music very much. Dances like in the nineteentwenies. Hard to play due to many changes of time and key. A quintet should already know each other before trying this.

Blumer ist eine meiner liebsten Entdeckungen der letzten Jahre. Deutsche Spätromantik, denke ich. Das klingt total voll. Sehr zu empfehlen und leider zu selten zu hören.
